Welcome to PCHE!

PCHE STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

Port Cities Home Educators' main purpose is to support and encourage homeschooling families.


PCHE OBJECTIVES:

  • The PCHE Board seeks to honor Christ and uphold Biblical principles in its decision making for the group.
  • Membership is open to anyone who wishes to be a part of this group.
  • Please note that all PCHE meetings will begin with prayer, offered by a Board member, seeking God's direction and blessing.
  • PCHE will seek to provide regularly scheduled meetings, current emails, and group activities.

Behavioral Codes and Dress Codes for PCHE:

  1. Children who choose to participate in activities with PCHE must agree to follow the instructions of parents and other leaders. Obeying those instructions and exhibiting respect toward parents and other leaders is a condition for remaining at an activity.
  2. At no time will the following activities be appropriate: use of bad language, possessing alcohol, drugs or tobacco products, inappropriate public display of affection, possessing a gun, knife or other dangerous weapon, or disregard for the guidelines and disrespect for parents or other leaders.
  3. Please note that if this does occur the child will be asked to leave. Further attendance at PCHE events will require the adult to attend with the child.
  4. A positive, pleasant and kind attitude toward one another is strongly encouraged.

Dress Code:


  1. Dress code for activities should be appropriate for the occasion. In order to preserve an atmosphere of integrity, respect and to insure an experience free of distractions, please note the following guidelines for all events.
  2. Shorts should be mid-thigh in length.
  3. Dresses and skirts should be no shorter than just above the knee.
  4. No spaghetti straps and shoulder straps should be at least three fingers wide. Shirts should be long enough to cover the midriff (front and back) even when hands are raised.
  5. No “muscle-shirts”.
  6. T-Shirts should not display inappropriate wording or graphics.
  7. If there are skirts worn with a slit-they need to be modest and contain no more than a 3-4" slit.
  8. "Baggy" pants with undergarments showing are unacceptable.

UPCOMING EVENTS:


Yearbook Workshop:

We are gearing up to put the yearbook together! Here are some important dates:

June 30 - is the last day to get your photos in. We need a variety of photos and a variety of activities portrayed. Not all photos will make it into the year book due to an abundance in some categories, but we like to have a variety so we can pick the best ones.

Workshop Dates for those who want to help put the pages together are: July 6, July 13 and July 20. All times are the same: 1:30 to 3:30. Come when you can leave when you must. If none of these dates work for you let me know and maybe we can work in a different day for you.

July 22 - Payment is due for the Year Book it is $16.75. Write check out to Marsha Iddings and mail to 1008 Marvin Lane, Clarkston, WA 99403

August - Target date for year books to be available - we’ll email you when they are ready! Marsha & Sarah Iddings - riddings@clarkston.com

Other Activities & Events:

REMINDER: Registration for March ICHE testing closes at midnight on August 1st. Go to www.iche-idaho.org to register online or to print out a mail-in registration form. Registration forms must be postmarked no later than August 1st. Late registrations cannot be accepted.

July Park Days:
Join us on July 14th and July 28th for fun at the park, all ages welcome! We will meet at Sunset Park in Lewiston form 10:30 - 12:30. See you there!! Any questions, call Patrice 758-9727

MEMBERS:

Watch your PCHE email for more details on these and other events and get-togethers. Or check the PCHE Calendar.

  • Teen Teams meets most every Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm. Activities and locations may vary. Check the PCHE email or the calendar for more information. Teen Teams is for kids ages 12 and up.

We are grateful for volunteers who help us in many areas! If you would like to volunteer, here are some areas where members can help out:
  • Graduation
  • Presentation Night
  • Project Night
  • Planning a field trip
  • Park Days
  • Students in Print
  • Christmas Parties
  • Year Book
  • Teen Teams
  • Co-ops

Contact the PCHE board at pche@pche.net and let them know where you would like to help out or ask them where you can help out. They should be able to give you some direction.

Also, be sure to watch your PCHE emails....many opportunities for helping within our group come through the email loop. It takes all of us working together to make our group work.

Please feel welcome to visit us if you are not a member. We would love to meet you and introduce you to other homeschoolers.

If you are new to PCHE or homeschooling and would like to be contacted by one of our members, just hit the email link and send us an email. Then someone will give you a call or answer by email whichever you prefer. We love helping others get started teaching their children.
